Monday was another typical day in Antwerp; class, nap, lunch, pub, class, class, dinner, pub. We've learned that people here have a beer at any time of the day. One of our teachers even encouraged us to go to this pub across from the Agora (student union area) during our break in between classes! Today we had all 3 classes, the European Union one, marketing, and Flemmish. After having a few beers, some people's Flemmish came out a little easier hahaha. I think the EU class is pretty interesting and I feel like I'm learning a lot about all the different member states of the European Union. But I have heard that the test for this class is very hard so I'm kinda nervous about that. Marketing seems to be a little dull, hopefully that gets better and Flemmish is hard, interesting and funny. I really struggle with this language but some people are getting pretty good!
After our last class we went to De Prof, the pub by campus, for a while. Then we came back to the apartments to have dinner in. My roommates Michelle and Melanie and I have gotten pretty good/creative with our meals that we cook in our place. I do though eat more butter bread here than I think I ever have in my life. Once we were done with dinner a group of us went down to this strip that has a ton of restaurants and bars. We sat down at an Irish pub with most of our group and had a few drinks and chatted. It's fun to be able to sit outside on the patio again; I've missed that after our long winter! After the Irish pub a few of us went to go and get some fries and mayo to share. I've also eaten more fries this past 2 week than I have in the past year at home- they are just SO good here, especially with their mayo J After that we went to the university bars again and met some more locals. It's fun to talk to them and learn about where they are from and what they do for work/school. We had a pretty large group tonight which is fun. By the looks of some of my classmates this morning, it was a fun night!

Tuesday was another day of our EU and marketing class. The EU test is coming up quick and we've covered so much material I'm starting to panic! We also went on a chocolate tour this afternoon which was obviously amazing. We went to 4 different places, taste tested at 3. I've never tasted chocolate like the Belgian chocolate made here, it is so rich and delicious. I was craving a big glass of Cass Clay milk tho when I was done. I'm going on milk withdraws over here, I just can't get myself to drink creamy, non-refrigerated milk. After our chocolate tour we walked around the city for a while and did some window shopping. They have a lot of cute stores here but I haven't done any shopping yet! I'm hoping to find a few summer outfits for my Greece trip coming up. We had dinner at the apartment again, Michelle and I made a chicken salad (with butter bread of course) and Melanie had bought a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. We just stayed in the rest of the night. Kailee, Baylee, Michelle and I did some Pilates and then tried to get some studying in!

Wednesday morning we had our last EU class. In 6 classes we covered 16 chapters and I have about 15 pages of notes. I've never taken a summer class before and I think this is why. We all decided that we would split up the chapters and make an outline of the chapter we read instead of all of us trying to read a 200+ page book about the EU. Hopefully that will work because it probably would have taken me a month to get that book read. The EU class at 9am was our only class of the day so we had the rest of the afternoon/evening to ourselves. We leave for Ireland tomorrow so a lot of us needed to get some laundry done. I'm kind of embarrassed to say this but today was my first day doing laundry at a laundry mat, and it was a lot of fun! Michelle, Melanie, Kailee, Baylee and I pretty much took over this laundry mat with all of our clothes, it was hilarious. We also brought our computers so we could get some homework done but ended up just listening to music. While we were doing laundry we got to talking about where we all live back in Fargo. Almost 2 weeks into my trip, I find out Baylee has been living 4 doors down from me at my apartment for the past year! What a small world.
It was finally really warm and sunny out today so after laundry we all were hangin' out, sitting in our windows and fire escapes to be able to be in the sun. There are parks in Belgium, but none close enough for us to walk to so we just sat in our windows J Once it was dinner time about 15 of us went to that pizza place again and 4 went to try this all you can eat sushi…. I went for pizza. After pizza we went and got some ice cream while we were waiting for the others at the sushi place. Once dinner was over we all met at the movie theater and saw the Hangover Part II. SO funny. Some of my classmates said they didn't like it as much as the first, which I kind of agree but still very good. After dinner and the movie I went back to my place and was able to skype mom and john quick. My internal clock has officially changed to 7 hrs ahead so when I call home right before bed here and its early afternoon at home it's so weird. Then I had to get packed and to bed, early flight to Ireland in the morning!!
