DAY TRIP TO NAOSHIMA:
Naoshima, Japan.
October 22nd, 2013, 9:47pm.
Hey everyone! Sorry for the late blog post. I was really tired and didn't get to finishing it in time.
It was a really boring day for me, though. I didn't want to wake up early again, because it seems like every time we do, something goes wrong. I mean think about it, yesterday we went to Naoshima after getting up early, and it was closed! And at the Tsukiji Fish Market, we woke up at 2:00am and it was closed! Anyways, after many long train rides and wrong turns, we made it to Naoshima for the second time. This time we got there at around noon. We took a ferry to the island. It was so nice and sunny out- I got to sit out in the warmth all the way there! Once we got there though... I was really disappointed. All there was to see was museums. And I had already had enough of museums... Real was again, in heaven though, since all these museums were created by his idol. Most of the entrance fees to get in were pretty expensive, too. So I decided to walk around by myself. I found myself at a beach, where the water was cold and the sun had gone behind the clouds. I sort of just sat there for an hour until Real was finished... Then we walked back to the bus stop, took a bus to the ferry, took the ferry to the main island of Honshu, and went back to get our luggage.
We then took the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Hiroshima where we gambled at finding a hostel that night. Luckily, we found one just near a train station. Only 112 bucks for 2 nights for 2 people! A private room, too! Yay!
We settled in and that's when I fell asleep. I was so tired from such a boring day, that I just passed out right away!
Now we're planning for the rest of our trip. I think we'll be headed on a day trip to Miyajima to see the "Floating Torii." Then we'll go see the Memorial Place of the bomb site... I'm a little scared but it'll be a good experience!
Again, sorry for the late blog and for such a short entry... Nothing really exciting happened, so there isn't really much to say. Other than it was my least favourite day and one of Real's favourite days. *Sigh.* Sometimes I wonder if travelling on your own is better...
Love always,
Lindsay Lehr

barbara Oh one day is not so bad...."and this too shall pass!" You must be gratefully for every moment even if it does not work out as planned. It was really nice that you let Uncle Real go to the museum I know that he appreciated it. Sometimes those moments that are not as planned are the best! I know from my travels it always happens to be the unplanned walks that you seem to see the real life around you. Those are the moments that I seem to remember the most! Embrace everything...the two of you are so lucky!!!! Love, Barbara
