Hey, so a bit more has been happening since my last entry. My next day here, the Friday was my day trip out to Kanchanaburi. I started the day waking up at 6am in time for some breakfast before the pick up at 7am. Then I was on my way for a 2 hour journey. When we got there, we went to the cemetery for WWII which was very sad seeing all the memorials for the soldiers and how young they all were too. Then we went on to the museum. Then we went on the 'death railway' over the Bridge on the River Kwai. The train was packed and went on for about 2 hours when we all had to guess when to get off as we'd been separated from our tour guide! When we got there, we had lunch and then went on a brief trip along a canal where we then went on a bamboo raft which was definitely different but interesting. After this, they made us go along a rickety bridge which had gaps in it and was very rickety. Most of you know but I hate bridges at the best of times so this wasn't the most fun part but I survived and was actually ok. No crying or panic attacks, maybe I'm cured, ha!
After this, we went on an elephant ride. I actually felt really sorry for the elephants, to guide us round, they were hit with a mini hammer and to get on, we had to step onto the poor thing. I made a new friend in a Korean man so we went on the elephant together. We bought the photos afterwards and he asked me to sign his which made me laugh! Lastly, we went to look at the waterfall which some people got in but I hadn't realised we could do this so I wasn't particularly prepared for it. It was nice to see nevertheless. Anyway, then we had a 3 hour journey back and I met Pui Yan at my hotel which was lovely. We went back to the guest house she found, caught up and then I passed out from tiredness.
The next day, we decided (as girls do) to do a bit of shopping. Then we wanted to go to Khao San Road so we decided to ask a Tuck Tuck, one gave us a ridiculous price and then the next said he could take us. As we were on our way, he told us there would be two stops, he took us to a cloth shop and told us to go in and have a look. We didn't want anything and the man in there told us the tuck tuck drivers get petrol money if we buy stuff. So we came back out, got back in and then 1 min down the road, he kicked us out and told us we were supposed to spend 10mins in the shop. Charming! I was glad to be with Pui Yan because he left us in an area we didn't have a clue where we were. Luckily we stopped another who took us there and was much nicer. That's one good thing about it here, you can stop a taxi or tuck tuck and go pretty much anywhere for very cheap prices. So we got to Khao San Road, had a wander then proceeded to have some drinks and ended up in a bar called Roof Bar which was really good fun and there were lots of English people there too. Oh and did I mention I had a bucket of cocktail?! Mmmm :) Oh and most people will be surprised to hear that I've also been drinking BEER!! It's so cheap here, I decided to give it a go he he.
Anyway, today we went to a weekend market which was huge! I actually got pretty hot after an hour, so I left Pui Yan to wander while I went and lay on the grass which was nice! Oh and I did buy a fan! I think we're going to go for a massage later and then to a rooftop bar later to see the Bangkok skyline. Hopefully that won't freak me out, ha! This computer is so slow that it takes about 2mins after I've typed to appear on the screen, there are probably multiple typos, sorry!
I hope you are all well and I will put some photos up soon. We've managed to get free Internet in the place we've just eaten but it's only for 30mins so it's been a bit rushed again.
Thanks for reading and hopefully update you all soon! Feel free to contact me and let me know how you're getting on too :) I hear it's cold there ;o) xxx

Wendy Wow it sounds like it has been very eventful in a short space of time. I thought the rooftop bars were the best bits of bangkok! Did you go up that really high one (kinda HO) with bed-like seats??? Have fun on your tour! Hopefully you'll meet lots of new people! Miss you xxx
Lindsay Ha ha Wendy yes we did and Pui Yan texted you but then realised her texts weren't working. We basically said we were thinking of you :) Bed-like seats were fun! Hope you're ok? xx
