Lin & Phil - Out and About in the Big World...
After a six hour greyhound ride we arrived in Townsville where we stayed a night before heading to Magnetic Island - Lin had here worst nights sleep ever, (parents dont read this...) this might be because the bed was as hard as a sex starved sexaholic mans willie on viagra!
Anyway next day we headed to Magnetic Island. Once we had been shown our accommodation on the Island (an A-Frame hut) and given the fact that it was in the middle of a jungle we soon had our bug proof/mosquito net up and the bed was as secure as fort knox!
Whilst on Magnetic Island we visited our hostels koala sanctuary. Yeah its true our hostel actually has a koala sanctuary! Guess what we saw in there? SNAKES, lizards, crocodiles and emmmm Koalas! We've decided we'd like to take one home. Anyone else want a Souvenir? I think one of them got a little nervous when we were in there because one of them did 14 poos (Lin counted!). Best of all though was listening to and seeing all the wildlife running around and on our hut whilst we were going to sleep. We spotted loads of Wallabies (like mini kangaroos), possums - which we were persuaded to stroke by some Aussies whilst at the bar! we also had a local wild koala who stayed in the trees just outside the resort. We had parrots flying, some other really colourful birds which we fed every afternoon and a few peackocks wondering about the place.
on our last day there we went for a bush walk over some rocky hills to a secluded bay - this turned out to be a nudist beach! we couldnt resist and got completely starkers and wondered around, counted about 10 otheres doing the same! wasnt too cold though! the coolest dude was this aboriginy who still had his wide brimmed hat on (i personally would be more careful about not burning the skin on certain other parts of my body!), who strolled past us very casually.
Just about to go on a whitsunday cruise. Gotta go..........
