Lin & Phil - Out and About in the Big World...
Hey,
Weve both just got over serious tummy bugs and were now in Udaipur.
Well the wedding was expensive! not for us though. There was the indian equivalent of robbie williams performng a private show for all the guests at the merideon hotel, all guests all expensxes paid at the sheraton hotel, then there was the wedding itself in the city palace, now this place has only had 5 weddings in it before.Lin was a little annoyed she was the only woman without a chunky diamond necklace, ear rings, braclets....etc. But she did wear a lovely sari. All in all, the wedding with private taxis for all guests, flying all guests in and out, humdreds of waiters, the best cuisine, etc etc probably cost way too much.
Weve caught a couple of flights to get to Udaipur. The following may only interest Andy - The flying was very unauthodox with flaps going down miles too early, miles too fast i think - think he may have lowered the flaps instead of raising the speed breaks! And the up and down turns pulled enough g's to make your tummy turn.
Udaipur is by far the nicest place weve visited so far. Weve found an awesome hotel with a pool. We've just come back from a tour around the city palce of Udaipur. Pretty cool. We also went on a cruise around the lake which was beautiful. Wre stoped at the island in the middle which was where the James Bond film Octop**** was filmed in 1984. Aparentley Bill clinton and Prince Charles attended a wedding only yesterday at the lake palace hotel which is o an island in the centre of the lake- expensive!
Weve made a reservation to dine at the lake side restaurant Ambrai tonight, hopefully we wot catch anymore bugs!
Having difficulty finding somewhere with a usb port to upload some pictures so bear with us mum.
Phil and Linda.
