Lin & Phil - Out and About in the Big World...
Hey everybody! Just writing this from the executive business lounge of the sheraton hotel! Well the taxi ride here was adventurous! we saw loads of camels being used as heavy goods vehicles! Finally after 5 hours we got here. This hotel is amazing, This is the life!
Think theres about 2 staff to every guest. Well the first night we went to a restaurant with all the guests that had arrived to this point. Yesterday we woke and had a lovely breakfast and then Lin was given a Mehendi - which is a posh henna style painting onto her hands and wrists. The paint is then peeled off to leave the skin dyed with the swirling patterns...this is very traditional for a wedding and all ladies must have it. The dye lasts for weeks. The wedding has had no expense spared! the food, drinks, decorations, flowers etc are all of the top draw!
All the events have been absolutely breath taking, however the indian food still scares me...although lindas tried everything! Without a delhi belly yet. Last night some traditional rituals took place at the \'Mudda Tika ceremony\' and then i had a chocolate mousse. Later there was a party where the dance floor was an empied out swimming pool, a free bar and candle lights dotted everywhere. There was also magicians, fire breathers etc. The young Indians however plied us with shots! they can really drink.
Today We went to the Jaipur royal Polo club and watched a game of horse polo, before taking part in a game of ELEPHANT POLO, Lin scored 2 goals and won a prize...then all the participants were given trophies after the game. It was awesome.
Lin waned to take an el;ephant home but i said it wouldnt fit in the backpack, she got upset!
Pictures to follow shortly.
Phil and Linda.
