Ok so I have just written a whole bloody entry for Hollywood and then my computer died and deleted it all, so I will make this brief!!!!!!!!!!! Flights were fine and quite enjoyable as there were endless film possibilities on one's own personal cinema screen thing, and almost nice plane food and free pillows and blankets. And we saw Uri Geller in Heathrow, celebrity(ish) number one of the trip haha. The connection in Toronto however was less than enjoyable as the US Immigration was a complete shambles and it was 20 minutes before our flight and the w***ers still wouldnt let us 'jump the line', bloody canadians. I complained to the security man about it but he just told me to 'Stop getting upset, ma'am', and I didn't argue the point furhter as he was MASSIVE.
So we rolled into LA at about 8pm local time, for us it was about 7am so I was seriously tired but didn't feel as bad as I thought. When we got to our hotel the first Americano we met was the gayest of the gay 'Hey honey are you from INGLIND??' And then there was this comedy night on at our hotel with free beer and stand up, and we soon realised that the guy doing the stand up was that black dude from scary movie who smokes all the weed (think his name is snooky or something??). American boy next to me was almost hysterically excited and afterwards dragged me with him to take a pic of him and the scary movie dude which was fun.
In the morning we wanted to hire a car and there was just this phone on the wall that you pick up and it connects you to the car hire place, which then sends a driver to pick you up from wherever you are. We were fascinated by this obviously. So we hired a car and the guy just gave me the keys and no instructions on how to drive it or anything, so i had a practice in the car park and their cars are actually like driving go-karts. We drove around for a while trying to get to the Hollywood sign but our sat-nav kept going crazy so instead we went to THE STORE as the americanos say and got some supplies and headed to venice beach. Parked up and realising we had no change for the parking meter, we had to go and ask randoms to change money. But if you put on your best English accent here and flash a smile you pretty much get whatever you want haha. So eventually got some change and surprisingly Darren went and put it in the wrong car meter, so paid for the car next to ours. TWAT. so i was mad and sent him off to go change 2 dollars. When he finally got back he was a second away from locking the key inside the car as well which would have been real fun.
Venice Beach is beautiful, the beach and the people. They have those Baywatch watchtowers and the lifeguards are all in red with those red float things, so cool. The lifegurads are insanely hot, bodies like Gods!! They actually rescued these 2 girls from the sea when i was paddling in it and did the running dive with the float around them LIKE BAYWATCH, it was the best, my sister would have loved it.
After the beach we went to Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills, both amazing, and just like the impression you get from TV but not in a negative sense. We then headed to Hollywood Boulevard and we were driving down it and suddenyl there were crowds of people lining the streets all screaming, and a red carpet on the left and we realised we had driven into The Hills Series Finale party. All of the cast were on the red carpet on the left of us, like 6 feet from our car window, and there was so much security and screaming people, it was wicked!! We parked up and walked all down it, the Walk of Fame is really fun but they have some well random people on it like Paula Abdul, in my opinion she is a serious nobody. Got my picture with the Michael Jackson star though so I was content. Then we went to a Liquor store for alcohol, and Subway for dinner, so as to fully immerse ourselves in the American culture. darren was amazed they sold Newcy Brown as some sort of top quality imported beer and we got a picture of course.
Back to hotel,, got drunk with some other YOUT's and we were lucky enough to meet a bloody geordie, a welshman, and some dude from Doncaster, who we got a taxi with to Hollywood which was buzzing. They decided they were going to go to the Hills party which I knew they would get denied from so we went our separate ways and Darren and I graced a few bars on the boulevard.
Several drinks later it was 2am and everything closed which amazed us. Keen to continue the party we headed across the street to this tattoo emporium and collected together all of our money (grand total of 118 dollars) and with our English accents managed to strike up a deal with the dudes there and we got one ear piercing (darren) and one tattoo (me) and darren was the biggest wimp ever, they drew the dot on his ear and the guy was like 'hows that for you??' and he pipes up 'oh that didn't hurt a bit!!' And the big piercing guy is like 'I haven't done it yet, Sir' so funny. I got my little barcelona tattoo that I've always wanted but been too scared to ever have done, so its a little sort of sun on my ankle and my tattoo man did it in red orange and yellow, i love it it is so beautiful. Then we had no money left and had to walk all the way back and i found a trolley and made darren push me in it because my legs were tired, and then the LAPD drove past and surprise surprise reversed all the way down the road to interrogate us. English accent again getting us out of any possible trouble.
Then in the morning we took our car back, checked out, and hopped on a coach to San Diego to continue our American aventura!!!!!!!! :)
