This morning we headed to the Citadel Outlet stores. We have been here a few times before & have always found them to be quite good. There weren't as many bargains to be had today as there has previously. I got shoes for the younger kids, some Lego & a Guess watch for me. Rob didn't do much better than me.
We left there around 3pm & headed for Venice Beach. We parked at one end of the boardwalk & walked the length of the it. This is where to go if you want to people watch. It is full of unusual people. There are stalls with people selling bizarre art works, dream catchers, jewellery and other bits & pieces. There are also lots of souvenir shops selling t-shirts etc, food shops & some bars. The strangest thing is the number of places offering medical marijuana. There were an awful lot of them in a small area. There were people waiting at them too.
There wasn't anyone playing on the volleyball courts & only a couple of men at the Muscle Beach gym. This is much better equipped than the one in Miami.
There were a few street musicians playing - mainly guitars - and the piano seemed to have been moved off the main boardwalk onto one of the side paths. A man was tuning it as we passed.
There were some bike hire places around & we considered getting bikes but when we got back to the car the man had packed up. They need the self serve bike hire like we did in Miami. Then you can do it any time.
It was a really hot day in the sun but it was much more pleasant when the sun went.
When we left Venice Beach we headed for Hollywood Boulevard. I need a new bag to take all my extra stuff home in & we always go to the man with the cheap bags on Hollywood Boulevard. But, he was shut!!!! We don't know if he is shut permanently or just because it was 7.30pm. I don't think we will bother going back down tomorrow. I will get a bag somewhere else.
After a dinner at Mel's Diner on Highland, we came back to the hotel for our last night.
