We crossed into Scotland and carried on up the coast past huge castles up past Edinburgh to Arbroath were we stayed the night with Ken, Margery, Alistair, and Rosalind they cooked us a really nice meal and then Rosalind took Vanessa for a ride on her horse the next day Alistair took us on a guided tour of Arbroath he showed us the church Margery's office and the port that is about all Arbroath has got but it does have Arbroath smokies which I think is smoked haddock so we got some for tea then we drove back to Edinburgh on the way we went to a museum about captain Scots first expedition to Antarctica. It told us the whole story and then we got to go on the actual boat and see captain Scott's cabin we carried on to Edinburgh across the fourth road bridge and found our nice apartment the next day we took the bus into town were we wandered up the royal mile it was pouring with rain we joined in a free walking tour which showed us all around the city we saw St Giles cathedral and lots of other things we had to stop the tour because we were so freezing. Then we saw the castle and got a bus back to our apartment at night we went to see Ishbell, Cassian, and there kids James and Alexandra we had a curry with them then got a taxi back. The next day we headed off past Gleneagles which is a five star hotel and golf course to Greenloaning were Mums ancestors house is we found the house but we couldn’t find there grave. So we headed to Stirling we went to the Wallace memorial it was a huge tower with a museum in it built for William Wallace. In the museum we learnt all about great Scottish battles we saw his sword too it was taller than me. Then we went to Stirling castle which was really big and was sitting on top of a cliff we ended up in Glasgow with Dunc and Ann again we had two nights there it rained the whole time all we managed to do was walk into Kirkintelloch and having lunch with Duncan, Ann, Gail, Scott, and Laura. We headed north past lochs, little villages and lots and lots of castles we also saw a piper in the middle of a car park and we stopped at Carnasserie castle and explored the ruins. We stopped in Oban were we spent three nights in a little cabin. The first day it was raining but we managed to see Dunstafnage castle were Flora McDonald was imprisoned and walked up to a big monument that looked like the Coliseum the next day we climbed Bein Laura which is a hill it was really windy at the top. Left Oban the next day and drove north we stopped at Glencoe were the Campbell's murdered the McDonalds in the massacre. We continued past fort William and along loch ness to Inverness. We stayed the night at a YHA. The next week we will spend at Helens place.
