We woke up in a youth hostel in Denmark and after having our breakfast we headed off in the car towards a town called Horsens on the way we stopped at a place were the north and the Baltic seas meet it was really strange because the waves were going two different ways we stood in the middle and got soaked. We carried on to Horsens were we went to a camp ground with a washing machine we stayed there for three nights and did washing. Then we carried on south back into Germany we drove past heaps of maze crops that were almost twice my height we stopped the night in the middle of nowhere but the campground was nice. We carried on into Holland there were heaps of old historic wind mills and even more huge modern ones there were also lots of little farms and instead of having fences they had wee canals. We finally got to Amsterdam were we found the campsite we had booked then we wandered into town. We had a look around the city it was nice but there was lots of rubbish everywhere, as usual there were big churches to look at then we got a free ferry back to our camping ground. The camping ground was full of tents and there was hardly any room. The next day we left Amsterdam and drove to some people who we met in Italy's place they let us stay for a couple of nights one day they took us to Kinderdyke its a world heritage site with 16 old fashion wind mills that were used to pump water to higher ground. we walked around and had a look in one. The family who ran the windmill had to live in it. It was really interesting. Then they took us to a place were they’ve made miniature versions of all the main attractions in Holland we walked around it they even had miniature trains, boats, cars and planes that drove around. We spent ages looking round there it was really cool. We left the next day and drove down through Holland we stopped at this place were they have had to build storm barriers across a harbour to stop it getting flooded to do that they also had to build an artificial island in the middle of it we went to the beach on the island it was nice. We carried on driving out of Holland into Belgium we drove past Brussels and into France were we stopped the night in Les Quesnoi its a town that was rescued from Germany by New Zealand soldiers in world war 2. it was a walled town with a mote and there were lots of streets named after things to do with New Zealand like Rue des all blacks , rue Aotearoa and even rue Helen Clarke (rue = street in french). The next day we went to lots of things to do with the war because were we were was had a lot of battles take place in it. So first we went to Arras were new zealanders dug tunnels to fit 10000 soldiers before the battle of arras. We got a really good tour it was very interesting. We also went to the Flanders field museum it showed life in the trenches on the front line in the war. Finally we went to a huge graveyard with heaps of soldiers graves it was huge! Then we drove to Dunquerke to stay the night. The next day we got the ferry back to Dover in Britain.
