London (England)
18th - 27th June
Well, back in england.....
We hit a brick wall and just couldnt find our way around.
DAY 1: It started a lovely day, but 27km and struggling to find a place to stay for less than 60 euro each our spirits soon dampened and put a downer on the day.
High point(s) of the day: sitting in the sun next to a lovely river, Liams talc incedent and finding a campsite.
DAY 2: So all warm and dry with a place to stay, we thought we would stay another night at this camp.
We decided to look at the weather forecast as it has been raining most of the day, to find out the outlook is bleak, two weeks of rain and thunderstorm were ahead of us, bummer.
we spent the whole day thinking of different ways to carry on our journey, do we stay in france carry on walking and undure to rain or do we change course and get a train or plane to rome where its nice and warm.
After a long day thinking (all day) we came to a conclusion..... we would stay another night and then head back towards the city of caen.
DAY THREE: Our last night in the campsite was horrible it rained so heavy for hours that the rain made it through our tent,!
We were devestated to find our sleepingbag was soaked along with other bits like walking boots, day one was bad but this was worse we had just about enough dry sleepingbag for one person let alone two. So I (Liam) gave up my warm spot under the sleepingbag to spend the night in trousers and my jumper huddled up to Cobi (typically the coldest night we've had so far!).
We got up really early (half nine) so we could get to caen and decide where to go, on our way we came to the conclusion that we would continue on towards ouistreham and catch a ferry home! (to make a new plan and try again).
Portsmouth
So now back in Portsmouth after having failed misirably we had a good meal and great (dry) night sleep, ready to get up and plan trip number two.
We spent hours umming and arring about where we go from here do we just spend the money on a great holiday or try again with the trip?
Finally coming to a conclusion we have decided to give it a go again this time with 90% of the trip planned, so having booked travel and accomodation we chill out for a couple of days in portsmouth (sorry we didnt tell you all, we just thought it would be easyer not to). Needless to say we did have to tell a couple of people, one person who was happy we were back so that we could attend her birthday we would otherwise have missed was Miss Molly Boulter.
Mollys birthday: First stop the lord palmerston (weatherspoons) 8 pm (ish). After a long wait we finilly found a place to sit, talk, and of course drink. Cobi quickly found a new friend who she instantly thought would be perfect for patrick. So she took it apon herself to play cupid, only to be disapointed to find out that Paddy's perfect match was gay :(.
After plenty of laughs and a "few" drinks we set of in the direction of HB (hampshire bulivard (For those of you not from porstmouth, HB is Portsmouth's premier gay club) we met up with a few others on route and all waited in the rain to get in.
Half way to christmas was the theme, when we arrived there were decorations and christmas songs. Before even making it to the bar I had a guy approch me and wish me merry christmas just before attempting to kiss me! Cobi found this highly amusing and thought she would go and chat with them. afterwards it was Paddys turn with a little help from cobi who didnt take long trying to set pad up with a random guy that said he was gorgeous, in fact his words were "I dont stand a chance hes way to good looking for me!). after failing at setting paddy up (pad not being gay was the main problem) she dissapered chatting and dancing away with randomers in the club.
At the end of the night molly was as ecspected very drunk, so we left the club and walked half way home in the rain before getting too cold and taking a taxi the rest of the way. all in all a great night thank you all.
The Plan: we have train tickets to london, a flight to munich, a cool looking place to stay (the tent) and coach travel all set in place.
We took the last train to gatwick that Cobi booked departing at 21:50 only to realise that the tickets actually said we were ment to arrive at 21:50 not depart opps, luckily the ticket guy didnt say anything woop! We arrived at gatwick around 23:30 for a 6:20am flight to munich. We had to wait around the airport for hours but it would all be worth it in the end (we hope). We got on the plane, now very excited for our short trip across to munich airport.
Munich here we come!!!
