Well I am enjoying my tour but it is pretty exhausting at moment keep moving from place to place. People are really nice on it. I've got a room on my own at moment even though paid to share with someone. There are a group of three English girls on it, another group of three English girls on it, a group of two German females on it and another group of two German females on it plus a couple from Australia. It was nice to swap travel stories Monday night. One girl was asked does she want helicopter as indian person thought it was the english name for an auto. Then another person (not on tour) said in England you need two eyes to drive while in India you need your whole head plus some luck.
Yesterday got train at 6:10am to Agra. Was in A/C chair class. Wasn't vastly different from at home but didn't try toilets. Got breakfast on train. I almost ate a lump of butter thinking it was cheese but I realised in time. I was also only given a fork so spreading butter on soft bread with a fork was quite difficult. I wondered afterwards whether you were supposed to use other end of fork as a knife as it seemed almost like a knife there. Some people had both knives and forks but the indian lady next to me also used her fork to spread the butter. Luckily company had set up so we had use of an auto all day in Agra for 500 rupees.
We went to Taj Mahal first and though I could appreciate its beauty I wish I could have seen it earlier in my Indian trip as already seen monuments similar to it like Humanyan's tomb which is a similar shape but done in red sandstone. In Kolkata I also saw a building in white marble. After that went to Agra Fort where we hired a guide. We then went for lunch and auto driver was quite naughty as he suggested we couldn't go back to hotel as would end up costing us more instead he took us to a restaurant so he could get commision. We discovered later that night that restaurant he took us to was just down the road from hotel. There were so many more cows, buffalos and also saw some camels in Agra. I was amused to see 4 dogs in middle of road plus a cow. I enjoyed having my club sandwich at lunch. We then went to see Baby Taj and then went to watch sunset over Taj Mahal which unfortunately never got behind Taj Mahal. We then had hideous traffic and auto driver was trying to move auto to get us out of way. I think I sweated more last night in traffic jam than all the time I have in India as was sat in middle. That was quite funny last night Toni began a game of I spy and I got what she was thinking. So I began to say I spy with my little eye and Nikki pipped up I think I just swallowed a fly. Then got back and 15 minutes later went out for dinner for sweet and sour chicken.
I was quite frustrated last night as was trying to upload photos and first computer didn't have adobe so they called for computer guy. He was absolutly useless he didn't read anything and couldn't even use mouse properly on laptop he just kept tapping it over and over again. Then I was logged out and I still hadn't got adobe on the computer so I gave up and said I was going to bed as time was getting closer to when I had to be off it anyway. I paid 100 rupees for nothing.
Today done a 6 hour bus ride without air conditioning from Agra to Jaipur. Did manage to get hot breeze through the windows. Left at 8:30am. Had one stop along the way which was quite a good stop and toilets were quite good. After we left hotel I psychologically thought I needed toilet so tried to go in some pretty horrible Indian toilets. Arrived at hotel in Jaipur which is very nice. Couldn't upload photos again onto internet but managed to put a back-up copy of them onto a USB stick so feel pretty happy about that. Got an orientation walk at 5:30pm and then going for dinner. Hotel owner does a walk at 5am for free for his guests which sounds quite nice to watch sunrise over Jaipur but I'm not sure I can cope with another very early rise.
