So Paris is amazing! Michigan had spring break this week and Alan’s parents brought him to France. I skipped a few classes to tag along. We started out with a delicious lunch in the second story of the Eiffel Tower and then climbed the stairs to the top. We later had a boat tour of the city through the river, which gave us new views of the Tower, Notre Dame, and many old bridges and buildings. The next day we saw the Musee d’Orsay and took a tour of some of the impressionist work. Later, Alan and I celebrated our one-year anniversary out on the town. We had a classy Parisian dinner followed by drinks and crepes in the streets under white string lights. The next day we toured the city on segway scooters for a good five hours, mostly sightseeing outdoors to see the ancient architecture. For the afternoon we went to the Louvre, one of the most fantastic art museums I have visited so far. I saw Nike and Venus di Milo, which were both nearly as breathtaking as the Sistine Chapel. Other highlights included Rafael and Rembrandt.
