Good morning! I am going to keep this short because I am freezing cold, finally, up here in the mountains of Hakone. The cold made the onsen, or hotspring, feel even better! Jeph became a red lobster while in his hotspring, I did a little bit too. We only got to enjoy it once since we slept right through the times for the private onsen! Instead, after we got here and settled into our rooms, and a quick trip to Lawsons for food that we couldn't heat up and enjoy anyway since there is no public microwave here at Ichinoyu Hatago. It makes sense, this is a really traditional onsen and our rooms are really cool with futons and a kotatsu. So we are relaxing in the traditional Japanese style. Which is making Jeph crazy since his way of relaxing is on a couch with video games and internet. I think he is looking forward to returning to the city, which we will do as we leave Hakone for Tokyo. There will be lots to do there, as well as meeting up with a good friend of mine, Laura Waiss! Man, I haven't seen her in years! She is the friend that introduced me to the world of anime in highschool. It seems we both held on to our love of Japanese culture all this time and are now in Japan at the same time!
Anyway, we have a traditional Japanese breakfast here at 8am, sooo an hour? I am going to guess breakfast will consist of miso, fish and rice. See you later! Anything from you, Jeph?
There was never a point in my life where I thought "today, I want to see a bunch of naked japanese dudes sit around and talk about how much their life sucks". Now that I've experienced that particular brand of nonsense, I can truthfully say that I hope it never happens again. Seriously, is a bit of modesty too much to ask? /sigh
