An early start to the day so we could get to Roma to watch the cattle sales - they're only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We arrived by 11.30am, and whilst the sales had finished, the were weighing in the last of the cows and then loading them onto the trucks - one of the farmers chatted to us, and was very happy with some of the prices he got for his cattle- a total of 2,200 cattle were in the pens today. Mum & Renee woke at 6.30am as they planned to do the Boolimba Bluff walk (6.4km) - unfortunately Eamon picked up a calf injury during the walk yesterday and dad was also pretty fatigued, so they stayed back at the campsite. We woke at 7.30am (early for us) and had eggs on toast for breakfast - with a long day ahead of us, we needed plenty of energy to start with as watermelon, pineapple and rice snacks was all we could fit in our packs. We departed the very pleasant Lake Maraboon around the usual time of 10am and headed into Emerald for a fresh juice for Renee & Eamon, some petrol, and a new bladder for mum's camelback.
