Given the time changes, we were all out of whack, so didn't get up until about 10am. The night was beautiful and quite breezy. Surprising, as we thought the temperatures across the Nullarbor would always be hot - as luck would have it, the southerly breeze is keeping things just right for the moment, but with hot weather to come!
Around lunchtime, we jumped in the cars and went down to Point Sinclair: there's a jetty and a netted area for swimming (created following a fatal shark attack on an 11 year old back in the 1970's). It's a great spot and not much has changed in 100 years, based on the photos around the jetty. The children all played around in the water and swam out to a pontoon, while Trudie and Mum took a walk up the beach to a wreck that ran aground a century ago, and Dad and Joe wandered around also. It's a beaut spot with not many people around at all.
Back at our campsite, we had a quick break, and got the fishing rods out for a spot of fishing out on the ocean side, where the famous left hand breaks are enjoyed by some expert surfers. It's quite rocky out there (some surfers had helmets on!) but the children had a swim while the men fished and the women chatted). The men called it quits on the rods, so it was back to the campsite for a 2 session dinner - 1st session for the children, 2nd session for the adults. While the kids watched a movie, we enjoyed some peace and quiet outside, and were joined by a Mum from Curl Curl in Sydney - the family are at the beginning of a 1-year adventure, so she picked our brains about the best things to do - it's nice to share what we've experienced with others.
