Got a bit of a sleep in today with breakfast at 8.15. Then go the bus to nice. Most beautiful views. On the way we stopped at fraganards a French perfumery. They showed us how they make it all and other things. Smelt so pretty and they were all cheaper because it was like an outlet store. I wanted to buy all of them but just picked one and got some argan oil that ive heard of that is good for your hair and skin and everything. Learnt that I need to buy perfume that is pure and not eau de perfum because it lasts less time. We moved on to there to the beach at nice and climbed to the top of .... To the ..... On the way steve recited a 28 digit number that pete had given him the night before and kept on his phone. It was pretty ridiculous but no wonder He is ao good at rememerig all the history he tells us. He was a mathematician accountant Or something before workin on contiki. It wasn't a bad walk up the hill though and had a few good stops and viewing platforms. Was a really beautiful place. We went back down and went to find somewhere for lunch with a group of people. We found some awesome food markets that had the nicest looking stuff in it. Had cool looking fruit of every kind that was glazed too. It look so strange. Some of the girls were jut going to walk and eat but kiwi Jess Billie and I decided to sit somewhere because they wanted ... which is a tomatoey seafood soup thing and apparently their specialty. We looked for quite a while even though Steve said it would be everywhere. Finally found a place and Tyson showed up just when we were looking at the menu so he joined us. It was a bit of a wait for the food but the server lady was a funny old french lady and was obsessed with Tyson. She was pretty funny and kept playing with his sunnies and saying something in french that made us laugh. I got another steak chips and salad with another awesome garlic aioli sauce and a smirnoff ice which I've come to really like. It cost me about 25 euros. The other three got their own meal and then shared the ..... Because it was 55 euros on its own. The meals were all quite good but was expensive in the french riviera. Friendlier people though and another day of awesome weather. We were there quite a while and only had about an hour left for the beach so we went that way. As we left the lady rAn up and called out to tyson to hug him goodbye. It was pretty funny but really random. We thought we better get money out so went hunting for an ATM which are no where over here- unlike pharmacies which are on every second corner. Finally found one and then went down to swim in the Mediterranean. The water was beautiful and so clear. It was pretty freeZing though and took my breath away when I went under because it was so constricting. The beach was all pebbles where we were so it was good not to get sand everywhere. There were private parts o the beach you had to pay to sit on and parts that they had imported sand onto. We went and dried out with 20 minutes to spare before we had to meet the bus. Wish we got more time there it was so relaxing and perhaps my favorite place so far. Only a few people swam because it was so cold. Glen kiwi jess Billie and I stayed at the beach longer then the others because we thought it was closer and had to run to get to the bus on time. But we did get there fine. we went back to the hostel and had a bit of time for showers Which were so good because I was still shivering from swimming. We had some free time then for internet and getting ready for tonight and some drinks. No usb slot though so still not able to do photos. They're getting so unorganized its crap. We had chicken something for dinner which was slightly better than yesterday but not the best. We had some more drinks and finished getting ready and left at 7 for Monaco to go to the Monte Carlo casino. It was an hour drive which was a bit poo bot being able to drink on the bus but still alright. Steve showed us the bend on the way where grace Kelly died by apparently driving off a cliff. It seemed like the most awesome place to live. You're not allowed to live there though unless you write a letter and apply for it. It's only 2 square km big or something bit has thousands of ppl live there and is the most dense space in the world. They live there because they don't pay taxes they jut have to guarantee they'll spend so much each year on gambling in the casinos. It's a principality so ruled by a prince. It's been te same family for 800 years or something who gained ruling by pretendig to be a monk and storming in on the last ruler. Te grand was a fancy casino without flashing lights but really classy. One lady was wearing a dress made out of ballgown material and it cost 10 euros just to get in. The toilet seat spun around after each person and got cleaned by itself. A lady was in there but didn't do anything and motioned for me to pay a euro for some reason. I didn't bet but a few did and some won a couple of hundred dollars. One was Courtney who won on a 10 dollar I swapped her to put in because hers was too crinkled. We went an had a drink though which was quite expensive but we found long Islas iced teas for 14 euro which was kind of ok
Because they have heaps of alcohol in them. I usually don't like then but didn't mind it here. Got a souvenir swizzle stick too. We left for another casino then which was apparently cheaper ad went to their rooftop bar and got another iced tea which was 19 euros. It was pretty but quite s***ty prices. We left by 10.30 though to bus home and sang for most of the return trip. We got back and went to the bar at the cabins. It was a cool little bar and we played some pool and drank with some of another tour group till about 2am till bed.
