Got up super early at 5am. So tires after only about 6 hrs sleep but had to catch the plane to see the Abu simbel. We got a packed lunch from the hotel that was pretty random and got our flight at .... I was told you could get a pi of the temple from the left of the plane upon landing and i got a perfect seat for it but fell asleep on the plane and only awoke when we touched down. It was only just over half an hour in the plane. When we got there wael told us about the meaning of the pictures inside because he wasn't allowed in to guide. We then walked around the it and it was amazing to see how big and awesome it was an know how they moved the whole thing from down river so it wouldn't flood anymore. There was so much carving and it was hard to imagine someone standing there carving it 4000 years ago. It also made me wonder what they did in each different room. We moved onto the smaller temple which was quite similar and looked in there before I got a picture with an Egyptian man and 'the key of life' and tipped him 1 US dollar. We then walked back around to look at sone stalls where one man tried to ask me in his shop to ask me about Billie- probably to buy her from me. They were all rather fascinated by our eyes. We moved on then back to the bus which drove us to the airport. At the airport we got a bus from the terminal to the plane as we did on the way. It was so weird because the plane was literally 100 meters from where we had to catch the bus. We got back anyway and had to wait a bit because Cass had gotten really sick from something. we then drove on to get Maccas for lunch which was nice for a change before continuing our drive for 3 hours from Aswan to Luxor. On the way to Maccas we were stopped by people making a road block that were apparently students wanting something from the government. It was pretty interesting but got a bit scary when they for out shovels and started pushing each other around. We got through after a while though behind a big truck. It was more like I expected Egypt to be on the sides of the road on the way. It was a long trip but not too bad. I think it ended up being more than 3 hours too. We went straight to a little jewelers to look at kartouches and buy them but they were super dear so I got a anhk emblem necklace pendant. It was 65 US dollars anyway but still cheaper. Then when waiting outside someone told me they had cheap silver ones for only 20 so went back on to order one of them. We went to check in and I decided I should have gotten Jess and dylan one so got wael to ring and order one each for them. We had showers and checked out the awesome pool on the roof before meeting some of the group to walk a few blocks down to a shisha bar. The shishas looked like giant bongs and had flavored tobacco in them. We got honey and apple ones to share between the group. I didn't think it particularly tasted like them though, it was more te smoke smell. It was a fun night though watching Steve and everyone and trying to blow smoke rings. The kar touches got engraved and were delivered to us here. We headed back and i went on the net and billie went for a walk around the block with ally. Apparently some men offered them a magic carpet ride and Thanked them for showing their nice teeth. They had a few drinks in the bar but I went up to bed then.
