HALLOWEEN
"TRICK OR TREAT!!!"...which unfortunately, we were unable to do, because our Halloween party was one day before actual Halloween (which is also the trick-or-treating day, October 31st). However, the party was GREAT! Caroline's (VISA) parents were kind enough to open their home to us, international students. However, before we went there, we all met up at our usual meeting point: the Wilder Tower on campus. This meant, walking all the way from our dorm to the tower, which is a 15 to 20 minutes walk. We received some very interesting responses, people we didn't know wanted to take pictures with us: Cleopatra and psycho Super Mario…who wouldn't want that? Haha! Jesper heard some regular Super Mario beats from people passing by as he took advantage of that from time to time.
After everyone expressed their "OOH"s and "Aah"s, we went up to Caroline's parents' place, a nice gigantic typical American home. We loved it! We had GREAT food: lasagna, casseroles, something with chicken, apple cider, pumpkin bread, cake, donuts, etc. etc. Food galore! And it was all yummy and delicious. Kudos to those who made the food :) Then, we had a bonfire going on in the backyard created by Britain, Doug and assistant Jesper. No s'mores this time, but I think we have a pretty good idea of what s'mores taste like! We played this typical American game, where we had to grab an apple out of a bucket full of water, without using our hands. For lack of a better name (and out of laziness for looking it up), we're gonna dub this game "Apple Snapper." We didn't actually play the game, because we were scared of messing up our make-up. Yes, call us what you want…but in the end, we DID get an apple! YAY! After playing some games, people at the party had to define who had the most creative costume, funniest costume and the best costume. Out of over 40 people, Jesper has been chosen as BEST COSTUME!:) Putting money into this costume was not a failure after all. He deserved it as all the people at the party wanted to take a picture with him as well. We ended the party with some games as Cleopatra was looking beautiful and phycho Super Mario decided to do some dancing (see YouTube channel of Lena & Jesper which will be updated soon).
The next day, it was really Halloween, which meant that as soon as it starts to get dark, the kids go out to go trick-or-treating. The trick is to only ring the doorbell at the houses where the front porch light is on. If it's off, that means those people are party-poopers and don't have candy! Jesper and I REALLY wanted to go trick-or-treating, but didn't get to really do any of that, because the neighborhood that is surrounding the University of Memphis is not really the neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. Besides, we would have to get all dressed up again AND explain to all the people why we, as college students, are still excited about trick-or-treating. Maybe some other time…;) We decided to check out SAW VII in 3D to be entertained otherwise. HAPPY HALLOWEEN PEOPLE!:)
Anyone interested in joining us the next time to do some trick-or-treating, let us know!!! :P
See ya next time!!!
Love,
-Lena & Jesper-
