Today we finally had a later start, getting up at 7.30 to have breakfast at 8. It was a great breakfast, with a fruit salad, toast and a cooked English breakfast. At 9, we headed off in the bus to the Rhino Sanctuary. It was a long journey, but on the way we saw baboons and some interesting birds to entertain us.
When we reached the Rhino Sanctuary, it was boiling hot, a nice change from yesterday, and we were led off by our guide to scout for rhinos. He did a birdcall and some guards 'babysitting' the rhinos (to ward off poachers) called back, and we headed in their direction. After a short walk we saw the rhinos - a mother and baby (only 6 months old) and a male rhino, which we were told was the second most dominant male at the sanctuary. We took some photos and then walked back to the restaurant for lunch.
We quickly had lunch before getting back in the bus for a long 4-hour journey to Red Chilli Hideaway in Kampala to retrieve the stuff which we had left behind for safari. The weather deteriorated again and it was raining heavily by the time we arrived at Red Chilli. We managed to get our suitcases into the bus during a short break in the rain, and then began the drive to Lake Victoria guesthouse in Entebbe, which lasted about an hour and half.
We had a delicious dinner of fish with fried vegetables, and then went back to our rooms to bed, ready for the long flight to England tomorrow.
