The count down for our honeymoon is on. Two months cycling through Europe. Typically we're not organised in anyway. Before I left to cycle through Europe last year I had a long to-do list at least a month out, I meticulously crossed things off, read up on what I was doing, where I was going and what I had to do. I had elaborate tool kits, I commuted to Brisbane and I rode around with bricks in my panniers. But this year, well, it's been a bit more lax.
One thing we are experts at is getting the non-essentials in order.
I have downloaded all manner of useless ipad apps for the trip and today Husband bought walkie talkies.
Unnecessary, maybe, lots of fun, definitely.
We've been practicing finishing our sentences with "over". We've also established essential call names. Legs 11 for me and Wobbly Wheels for Husband.
Yesterday's training session went something like this: "Come in Legs 11, Wobbly Wheels, Wobbly Wheels here, what are you doing? Over."
"Legs 11 Wobbly Wheels Legs 11, reading you loud and clear. You can see me. I'm sitting at my desk trying to do some work."
"Legs 11 you forgot to say over. Over."
"Wobbly Wheels I thought you'd just know when I had finished talking so I didn't have to say over. Over."
"Legs 11 you have to say over. Otherwise how do I know it's over? Over."
And on it went. I plan to use the walkie talkies to discuss critical matters such as how many baguettes are too many baguettes, whether drinking beer at lunch time is performance enhancing and are we going in the right direction?
Wobbly Wheels on the other hand only got as far as: "Open your Legs 11."
Sigh. Over. Definitely over.
