Today my tour of Salisbury, Stonehenge and Bath starts. Up early this morning and ready had to tube it to Victoria Station so to avoid the working peak time left considerably early at 7:15. Practically no one on the tube so got a seat (thank god cause me legs arn't going to hold out much longer)
Victoria Tube station is under construction so to many detours for me to handle this early in the morning. Finaly made it to the coach station and outside saw one of those crazy pigeon people (gotta love em).
First stop on the tour was Salisbury and Salisbury Catherderal. This puts anything we have in Perth to shame and this is in this quaint little town so its absolutly beautiful. Saw one of the 4 remaining copies of the magna carta which is awsome thank god they had english translations cause my Medievil Latin is a little rusty. Also at this cathederal is the oldest working clock in the world and one of the largest pipe organs. So much culture in such a little place.
Next stop is stonehenge which is absolutly amazing, although you are not aloud to go inside the circle anymore 10 metres away is enough to fully apreciate the mystery behind this structure. Some of the stones are said to have travelled from over 200 km away. Which is amazing cause they look and im sure they are very very heavy. Snapped a few shots here (42 in total going a little snap crazy) and did an audio guide of the history and then we leave for Bath.
The roman baths stink, to much stagnant water. But its incredible none the less. I can't believe how the built structures like this so long ago. Walked through the whole roman bath complex, seeing all the different rooms for different functions, steam room, sauna, day bath, healing baths, recovery baths would be so much better than todays day spa.
Anyway tomorrow im off to Eastbourne in Sussex which should be a long arduouse journy but a must do to see family.
Again hopeing all is well back home.
Signing off
Lee
