Well today started early. Another dawn chorus from the resident priests who I now think are trying to put sing the local Muslims in their call to prayer.
We travelled to the village to see the land I own which is bigger than I remember. We also saw the house that my father was burn in. As you can see he came from very humble beginnings but was able to build a good life for himself. No wonder his relatives consider him the local mr money bags! We curried his ashes with a priest chanting on my land which I'm sure he will guard now forever.
It was a very simple ceremony and now we have completed his circle of life. Rest now in your homeland guarding your legacy.
We lit sone sky lanterns and almost set light to some coconut trees! We joked that he is probably flying back to London right now!
I didn't get on too well with my dad but I'm glad and proud that I've been able to fulfil his last wish to me. I promised him and I never break a promise.
We are hot and weary. Tomorrow I see the lawyer and am very clear that if land is not signed back over then I will involve the police. Word is getting round the relatives about what has happened and everyone is upset and worried for her. Fingers crossed it gets resolved tomorrow.
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to New Years.
