Hello hello once again.
Here in the Llonji rice terraces and fantiastic they are too!!!
Bit of an adventure the last fewe days, the evening i wrote last i got very very ill with my head feeling like it was exploding and everytime i eat something i wanted to vomit so my tour guide rushed me off to a tiny hospital! Well it was all a bit random and given the woman in one corner vomitting on the floor and the disgustingness of the toilets i decided to decline when they wanted to stick my arm with pain killer and they didnt seem to know what else to do so they took my temperature which wasnt too bad and then sent me home with painkillers and sleeping pills to the spider ridden wooden housE!!!! think if i could have at that point i may have jumped on a plane straight home!!!
Thank god one ofd the guys who owned the guest house randomly started giving me a rather painfull bout of neck massage which actually helped soooo much with the pain after a few minutes (alkthough my neck is a bit bruised now!!) i fell asleep quite quickly. woke up the next day feeling grogy but better so put it all down to a really bad migrane.
We arrived here yesterday and i felt better so joined the others on a short (3 hour) trek atround the rice terraces which did ne the world of good!!! However after eating something last night it all started to repeat in a slightly less dramatic way. After a bit of thinking about it i'm wondering if its the food!!! Here in china they lace all theoir sauces with the chemical MSG and the afternioon before i got my first migrasne i has been eating noodle that i could only half finish because they were so salty (the taste of MSG). Tour leader is gonna ask them to make food tonight without it so i guess the proof will be in the pudding!!!!
Anyhow!!!! china is very beautifull (well this corner is anyway) the rice terraces are stunning although our hotel is right at the top so we pay for the best view with out calf muscles!!!! This part of trip has been really hard with moving almost every day however tomorrow we head to Lizhou and we are there for two nights so we can all relax a bit! I still cant get used to the communal toilet thing though and am becoming the master of "hold it in untill we get back to the hotel" but even then they are all squats!!!!
The family who run this hotel are great, they are of the Zhuang tribal peole and really helpfull, they have this hysterical toddler who wears squeaky shoes so you can here him all over the hotel and like to come sit with you when you eat, he is however leathal with chop sticks!!!!! Will feel stranmge going back to a knifge and fork, almost the entire jpourney chop sticks are your only option especially since we arrived in china!!!!
Anyway meeting the others for dinner in a minute so i'm off
\Josie -- will keep your idea in mind on the overnight train and let you know if that really is how it feels!!!! hehe
