Hey!
Today we left Chiang Mai to continue our journey into the neighbouring country of Laos. We had booked passage to Luang Prabang in Laos by slow boat down the Mekong river. This meant we had to get to the border in Thailand to stay overnight in Chiang Kong, crossing over into Laos through passport control. It began with a bus trip to the border town, being ushered in to a minivan by a local Thai who had a hilarious half cockney, half thai accent! This seemed to be the trend, as we met another German traveller who had a Scottish brogue, and although he talked a lot of 'spiel', he seemed a nice enough fellow. We met a great kiwi who was travelling through, with a ukele to keep him entertained, and despite being old enough to be Nikki and Leanna's dad, they happily announced that they found him 'CUTE'. This word seems to finish the end of 99% of all Leanna's sentences!!
