Wow hello from INDIA! i dont' have much time to wirte and to be honest my hands are really cold so my typing is relaly slow but i'll do my best! i'm in india first of all and have had a whirlwind of a week.... this is pretty mch the first time i've seen a computer since leaving NZ... tihngs are little different in india, and by a little i mean A LOT! ive been bleessed in my life and done a fair amount of travelling but india is BY FAR unlike any other place i have ever been, pretty much Kolkatta is NUTS! well we left NZ with our plane delayed 3 hours so we missed out connection in Bangkok, but the upside of that was they put us up in a hotel in bangkok so we got to spend the night there! we proceeded to fly to bangladesh and spent about 6 hours in that airport waiting for our flight into Kolkatta! thats when it alllll began... kolkatta is crazy, it has a population of about 15 million recorded people with anywhere up to about 17 or 18 million people actually! okay try to understand that... its hard to think aobut, its an insane city! the poverty is unbelievable as well.... but it will be really good to help out aruond there and do all sorts of things! this is going to be very very very abbreviatted but after spending 2 day sin Kolkatta (which is never lacking in diesel fumes and carbon monoxide) we took a sleeper train up north towards darjeeling! this is no paris to rome sleeper train let me remind you, its pretty much a bunch of bunks with thousands of other people in these train cars.... it was very interesting to say the least.... when we got to the town we got off, we needed to get a jeep to take us 3 hours up the mountain to Darjeeling.... now tihs was not an easy task because there is a ALOT of political unrest right now in darjeeling and there has been fighting all sorts of other things going on, but i managed to talk some guys into bringing us up here... only today have things started to open up again (which allowed me to go on the comp) because of the political situation, google Darjeeling if you wanna find out more... so darjeeling is a breath of fresh air let me tell you! it is an awesome town nestled in the himilayas, each morning i read and listen to music on our balcony which over looks the whole city and the 3rd highest mountain in the world! its crazy to think that i'm in the himilayas right now! in about an hour we're going to a tibetan refugee center to help out and talk to people there but as far as what else we're doing i don't know! i wont' have time to respond to all your emails i'm sorry! i love getting them though they're gteat!... just know that i'm good and alive in india... we'll be heading back to kolkatta in a week and half and we'll be there for 3 weeks... mom i'd like you to kno that i just had death by chocolate from some bakery, the bakerys in darjeeling are amazing! as is the tea (or so i'm told) i geuss it is world famous! this is all i can write now, i'm sorry... i know there are porbably a lot of questions and im sorry i can't go more in depth about other things other than what i've been doing for the past week, but oh well! much love, go ROYALS!
