So we turned up at our accomadation today, after a 30km taxi journey and a night on the sleeper train to be told that there was no room for us, even though we had paid up front.

The whole situation was suspicious, the guy then told us he had phoned his director ( strange terms for a homestay) and would be able to offer a room for double the price at another homestay, but for us he would offer it at a reduced rate, but still a huge supplement to our original price.

After much discussion we got out of there and walked the weary 3km into town to find a room.... a few 100 metres along the walk the d*** wad appeared on a motor bike, offering to be a "map" to help us find another hotel.

I think its fair to say we'd had enough of hoi an before we'd even arrived..... more updates on the way!
