Wednesday we were up super early for our final drive to Delhi and oh my was it a long one. We drove through a village that had been completely flooded by yesterday's storm leaving us no choice but to drive through with the water coming up over the bike wheels, our feet and the bottom of our bags, we hope we don't get cholera! The road after was a 8 mile long stretch of pot holes which left us rather sore. We stopped for a break then realised we had stopped outside a school and all the kids were in the windows and trying to peak over the wall to stare at us. We were on our last hour into the city and got stopped by the police... Bloody typical, made it the whole way round and now they are going to ask for money, but nope they seemed to just have nothing better to do and luckily sent us on our way. We made it to our hostel around 15:00, tired, thirsty and covered in dust and flood water... We stank. We spent the afternoon chilling and sorting through our kit before saying farewell to Matt and hitting the hay.
Thursday we had a bit of a lie in although the bodies have got pretty used to waking up early now. We had a lazy day, chilling, talking with family and deciding where to go next.Ben and Chris decided we would make our trip down to Goa so went to the train station to get us tickets. Our train to Goa is tomorrow so we spent the afternoon packing 1 bag for all of us so we didn't have to take all our kit there and back, we didn't really do much, Delhi is pretty boring.
Friday, we spent the morning watching the clock so we could get out of rubbish Delhi and on our way to the sun and sea of Goa! Our train was at 15:00, we had 3 beds in a nice air-conditioned carriage with 2 older ladies in our compartment, they asked to take the bottom beds as there was no chance they could climb to the top bunks which we were happy about as theres more privacy up top. We spent the rest of the day on our bunks watching films, listening to music and doing puzzles.
Saturday, we tried to stay in bed as long as possible as there's nothing else to do on the train. Eventually we got up for some food then continued the rest of the journey on our bunks watching films, listening to music and doing puzzles until bed time where we became relieved that when we wake up we would have completed our 37 hour train journey and arrive in Goa.
