Well it has started, the sad farewells, shedding of a few pensive tears and then the realisation that eight and a half months is not really all that long and before you know it, it will be that time of year again and you will be wracking your brains as to what you could possibly buy for your secret santa in 2007?.
It is funny the wave of emotions you go through when preparing to embark on an extended trip away from home, harking back to the days really when your parents drive you to your university town and boot you out of the car only to leave you to defend yourself against the strife and challenges of the big wide world. At the time I thought they were quite harsh although Im sure that they took comfort in the fact that if an emergency should arise they were only a few hours down the road. Now add on several thousands of miles and you can surely conjour up images of the actions of concerned parents, need i say more.
I have to say that as my friends are reading this they are probably guffawing at the computer screen at my nerve to say that my mum will be fretting when they have had to cope with me and my thoughts about my pending trip this weekend. I will save the details for another install ment, but I have to say that although eight months is not really that long in the grand scheme of things I will surely miss me girwls as i affectionatley refer to them and all of my other friends who I managed to see during my whistlestop tour of Sheffield. I had such a hoot this weekend at our annual gathering that it was only right that a few tears be shared when I bid them farewell until October next year!
Well just two weeks and four days to go, until then happy christmas!!
