Well here I am in Victoria Falls, smaller than expected I must say. Cannot say much this time around as this computer is quite slow. It is extremely warm and humid compared to old blighty but nice all the same. Everyone seems really pleasant here although if i had one piece of advice for anyone visiting here it would be to bring plenty of us dollars and dont use the banks. So after a night of not having any food etc although we did manage to get some drinks at least we woke up in an absolute sweat due to having a long sleeved t shirt on in an attempt to keep the mosquitoes away, the fan had been blowing all night but to no avail! We caught a cab down to the new hostel we would be staying in after much barataring by Shane (one of the guys on our trip) with prompting from catherine as to how much the taxi should be. After getting settled in we headed down to victoria falls , infact we walked there occasionally being followed by some locals. It is quite humbling to see how others live, little children asking for money on the street, im sure throughout this trip in Africa I will realise how lucky I am to have what I have got.
The falls were pretty amazing, got quite wet though as when the wind picked up it sent lots of spray our way, Shane opted for the umberella but Kirst Catherine and I went with no defence to the falls..... we were ok. The rest of the day was spent just generally milling around as we had not a lot to do really but it was kind of nice after the many hours of travelling. The next day or morning no sorry the middle of the night we did a walk with the lions. The truck came to pick us up at 6 am. We went to a park thatb is dedicated to maintaining the population of Lions in Africa. The project involves three stages of rehabilitation and the part that we were able to see involoved having contact with the lion cubs. Not all are released into the wild but these guys were funny. They obviously have people coming around everyday so the in all honesty probaby get fed up with tourists following them around all the time. I got some cool shots and it was a cool experience. There is absolutely stacks of activities that you can do in Victoria Falls like elephant rides helicopter flights sky dives so you will never be short iof anything to do. Its just that you have to be smart with your money.
Later that afternoon after a traditional African dinner we set off on the big blue truck our home for the next three weeks. I calimed the front seat, noone else wanted it really so there was lots of leg room for me. Our first stop is Chobe National Park.
