Day 26! We headed for the Grand Ole Opry this morning for a tour, as it's 'country musics most famous venue". It was a pretty cool tour of backstage and onstage, Catherine was in her element! There was a mall next to the place so we bought some new going out clothes while it's tax free weekend! Plus we hate all of our clothes after wearing the same stuff for nearly 4 weeks.. We dropped off the car and then headed back downtown and went to Hooters for lunch, which was funny. Then we went into a few of the tacky gift shops on Broadway, had a look around a civil war visitors centre in bicentennial park (I still don't really understand it!) and headed back to the motel. We went for a very quick swim in the pool because it was freezing and did our laundry and then got ready for our night out. We went to a bar on Broadway which promised us it served food, but it appeared that nobody ever actually ordered food there! We ordered a pizza which we could see them taking out of a freezer and walking around with for ages as if they had no idea what to do with it. It was a pretty terrible pizza as well haha. The barmaid brought us over a round of beers and said "this is from the couple behind you" - I didn't realise people actually did that! Then it happened again and some guys at the bar had sent us over a round of whiskeys.. I had one sip and it was horrible, I hate whiskey! After we left that bar we went to a karaoke bar, which was so much fun. Everyone was getting up and singing, the three of us sang I Love Rock n Roll together (not really sure why we chose that song..), I sang Walking in Memphis and Catherine sang a Carrie Underwood song. We had so much fun out in Nashville though, even though me and Julie know hardly any country music! L x
