22nd SEPT - Today we entered Zambia, taking a short ferry across the width of the river. You could see Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia at each side. The were queues of lorries at either side whihc have to wait for days to get across. 16th SEPT - We drove 520km to Botswana today and got our Botswana stamp! Said goodbye to Sophie as she is going on to work with lions. Very sad. Already i could feel the heat difference - Botswana is much much hotter. Despite Africa being hot however, the evenings can get very very cold. 7th SEPT - After sunbathing on a raft in the middle of the Orange River we all packed up and set off on Shangani to head to the Fish River Canyon, Namibia - the 2nd biggest behind the Grand Canyon. Baically we travelled across southern africa (SA,Namibia,Botswana,Zambia) in an overland truck named Shangani with 2 guides. Our guide Heini (namibia) and driver Anthony (from kenya) we're fabulous. We have all come to love Shangani rather a lot by the end of the month that's for sure! There was a group of 24 of us starting out at Cape Town with various destination ...
