Hello All,
Wow! Not really sure where to start with Las Vegas! What an amazing place, Disneyland for adults! We stayed at Circus Circus which was really cool, inside the hotels was a circus, a theme park, 3 pools and loads of bars, restaurants and casinos. You could easily spend hours in our hotel alone.
So the first night we arrived around 9pm and met up with Kimberly and Ryan (friends from uni) after a quick shower we headed out to explore the sights and I think we were all pretty amazed. We spent literally hours walking up and down the strip just taking everything in. The hotel/casinos are amazing, especially the high end ones such as the Bellagio, Mirage and the MGM grand! There so over the top and brilliant!
Our time in Vegas basically consisted of pool by day and casinos by night! Pretty perfect! What made it even better was the fact that we could sit on the 1cent machines and get free drinks all night, not crappy cheap spirits either, you could literally have anything you wanted from the bar! We were in heaven!!
So some of our highlights were - The dancing Bellagio water fountains which were beautiful, I could have watched them all night! We also enjoyed the Volcano eruption at the Mirage, The light show at the Freemont, the gondoliers at the Venetian. The mini Eiffel tower and mini New York were also really impressive. We also went to see the world's largest golden nugget which I think we were all pretty disappointed in me more so than the others as I was expecting the worlds biggest piece of golden nugget cereal not a tiny piece of gold! Ha! Oooppss!
We loved Vegas and would defiantly go back!
ROAD TRIP!!! From Vegas we hired a car and drove across the country to the Hoover dam and the Grand Canyon. The drive was very picturesque; we literally drove for miles and miles through the desert!
The Hoover dam was a pretty spectacular structure! In fact it was an absolute beast! The Grand Canyon stole the show though, it was out of this world! I don't think any of us were expecting it to be so amazing! After enjoying the beautiful views we headed to a small red neck town on route 66 called Williams grabbed some food before hitting the road again to find a place to say for the night. Some hours later we came to Needles, a small town in the middle of nowhere were we a found a surprisingly nice motel and settled for the night.
