Well hello all. Long time no speak. We are still alive though so everyone can sleep easy again.
Right where did we leave off??!!So we arrived at Sydney airport at the same time as the Manly Rugby team (Hotties!!!) so Australia got off ro a very good start- not that we were looking our best after our long flight from Singapore!! One of the Aussies that we met in Thailand then came and picked us up in his convertable.. a nice change from the sweaty buses that we were used to in Asia. We spent the next 2 weeks with the boys and stayed at Blake and Seans home.. with ttheir parents and stinky pitbull "Chop". Their house was absolutely unreal and with a pool- this is the kind of backpacking I signed up for. Literally had the best couple of weeks. The boys parents were absolutely delightful and totally spoiled us. We joined the gym in an attempt to avoid putting on the Sydney stone- but still managed to eat alot of cake!!! The beaches and weather were unreal and we went out on the boys boat around the harbour- life doesnt get much better. We had some very wild nights out- on the saturday all the boys came round to Blakes where we played Kings. Everyone was totally blind but we all decided that it would be a really good idea if we went out at 12 that night, oh dear! We went to an awesome bar, but the boys would not allow us to talk to any other men.. so we decided that we would talk to as many men as possible just to annoy them.. this plan severely back fired when a fight kicked off and Millard was accidently hit in the face.. very funny now!!! We also managed to squeeze in a 21st birthday party which was held on the top floor of a swanky hotel.. all drinks included.. another messy night!!
Oh and I nearly forgot... one night we somehow managed to wangle our way into the swanky Ivy nightclub/hotel where you are meant to be members. As soon as we approached the bar, some guys bought us a a drink and asked us if we wanted to go up to the next level.. VIP only.. we were like "hell yeah". Anyway the next floor had a massive pool, no cameras allowed as this is meant to be a celebrity hotspot and that night we were partying with the likes of Kings of Leon and some footy players.. unfortunately we were in our own world surprise surprise.. a little tipsy and didnt really take much notice of any of them.
So after 2 weeks of Sydney we decided that we really should see some more of the East coast and so we headed down to Melbourne. Melbourne is also amazing.. small beach area but the shopping is unreal as is the food. The first few days we were there, the weather was awesome but things took a turn for the worse on the day that we decided to do the Great Ocean Road.. hence the attractive pictures (see melbourne album for details). We also squeezed in the Neighbours tour which was the cheesiest day of our lives.. we got to go to Ramsay Street on the Neighbours Bus and met Janelle- i know that you are all jealous!!! We thought we saw Bob the dog but apparently it was just a stray haxx
So after a week in not soooo sunny Melbourne we headed up to Brisbane and are now in Byron Bay- totally awesome hippy town. We have had brilliant weather accept for today-totally tipping it down. There are loads of surfers about and the beaches are beautiful. We randomly met this guy on our first night here.. he was renting a room in a house and said that they had a spare room if we were interested- we were more than happy to take hiom up on this offer.. far better than spending another night in a tent on the camp site. So the guy picked us up the next day, and took us to the house which is amazing.. we have our own room with a walk-in wardrobe and the complex has a huge pool.. so life is very sweet. We have had some ridiculous nights out but there are some very strange hippie type people- all smoking God knows what. It is such a small world.. Tara bumped in to a friend from uni.. and we bumped into a girld from primary school... very strange!!
So here is a quick update on our recent activities and we head to Surfers Paradise on Wednesday for some more surf and wild times.
Hope everyone is well at home... write us messages.. response has been lameof late.
Peace and love Homeys. Pics may be delayed as we are having some trouble uploading them.
The Fowllard xx
