This should be quite a short blog as I'm currently standing in Kuala Lumpar airport waiting for our connecting flight to Beijing!
Japan was fantastic and we had such a good time in Takamatsu with Clem! We really would have been happy staying there for so much longer (although I think Clem would have something to say about that!!) We saw Ritsurin Park which was breathtaking and also went to the Shiloku Folk Museum. Clem and Sayaka also took us out for the day to a traditional Udon Restuarant where we also had sushi ( I know - is there no end to my adventurous nature?) and to the Yakurin Mountain. We also bought Kimonos and Sayaka dressed us in them which was soooo much fun! We may have also done a little more Kareoke (ok 4 hours worth - I actually lost my voice! Serves me right hey!)
We then headed to Kyoto and stayed in a really good hostel which was very cheap and central (our 2 favourite things) Kyoto was really nice but a little touristy. We saw loads of shrines and temples including the Golden Pavillion and the Fushimi-Inari-Taisha Shrine which has a 4km mountain pilgrimage behind it marked by Shinto Gates. Very kackering but good practice for the great wall!! Also went to Nijo Castle!
We then headed out to Osaka ready for our flight and treated ourselves to the joys of the airport hotel and all the luxuries it included (a bath - hurrah!)
Which brings me to now! Heading to China in a couple of hours and arrive at 6.30am their time and have a few days before the tour starts.
(I have put a few photos up but ran out of time on the paying computer and this one wont let me do it - grr! Will put them up soon!)
