Got up at hostel, had Myanmar breakie which I was still not feeling so ate a banana instead. Had a crack with our fellow northern neighbours called Kate and Ross and then got ready for the day ahead. Went to discover what was in the south of Yangon today. Got on the bus and showed the man where we wanted too go low and behold wrong bus!! So off we popped and hopped in the nearest taxi ;least we gave it a go) arrived at what appeared to be a festival everyone was cheering and singing. We explored the temple then heard a very high pitched cat like singer singing what sounded like happy birthday. We later found out it was infact one of the Buddhas birthdays we thought we would join in the celebrations and people were queueing to get there photos taken with us. And a little boy no older than 7 with a top knot decided to imitate every move we made for a good half hour much to his own enjoyment. We then wandered up the street to try to find china town we stopped on the way to sample street food, we all opted for chicken fried rice, chicken... Cat or dog we weren't so sure. Was right tho.30p each! We walked a few more miles and stumbled across a Hardeys which was like an American fast food chain, we were gutted we had eaten as the cheese burgers looked unreal. Made it to another pagoda which was in a much richer area of Yangon and we went and sat in the park which was like Central Park a totally different side to the Yangon we had experienced. Had a good wander through china town and decided we would walk home..: 10 miles later Lauren nearly collapsed with prickly heat we are at a minging restaurant where Laura took 1 bite and was nearly sick. Once we got back to the hotel it was mission aloe Vera with Lauren's legs, with various flannels and gel I had to keep applying. she was now in bed rest thank god for pickles and her pharmacy. We spent the night planning our travels to began.
