Well D-Day finally arrived and the emotions were running high! I was fine until it came to saying goodbye to my dogs and then the floodgates opened. It was a lot harder than I had imagined!
At the airport we said goodbye to family and friends and proceeded through to departures where we sat and waited to board the flight which was surprisingly on time (if your from guernsey you'll understand our surprise at this - a good omen I hope).
All went well - we made it to gatwick after the obligatory tomato juice on the plane and then retrieved our rucksacks which now appear heavier every time we put them on our shoulders - this could get interesting!
After going to the wrong bus stop we eventually found the shuttle to the travelodge only to be met by a bus driver with his trousers round his ankles and his hand in an unmentionable region - a strange beginning to our travels to say the least.
The travel lodge is nice and will do us for the evening - Mel came out with a classic whilst sat on the bed - "I'm glad they gave us pillows" haha!
Then after some bank drama and a quick skype session with mum and the dogs, we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner where we shared a mahoosive combo platter which filled us up nicely!
2 hours later, a knife incident and a garlic bread throwing competition and we are now tucked up in bed watching sport relief and contemplating what is ahead of us...hopefully this will be the most uninteresting of the blogs :p
Till next time.......
