That's right, just 3 little weeks. Weeks that would normally go by so quickly in everyday life, but for us it's dragging so much! 3 weeks today at this precise minute we will be at the Stadium of Sh**e waiting for Take That to take the stage (Take That being the only reason we are entering that place). The days leading up to it we will have had a leaving party and attended a wedding, leaving us not much time for packing and organising things - oh well! Then after the show it will be a matter of hours before our first flight. Ok, our first flight is only Newcastle to Heathrow but still!
So - update since last blog entry. Well if you are friends with me on facebook you might have noticed that we've booked ourselves a few nights in a little piece of paradise in the Pacific Ocean! Since our original plan for Fiji fell through (tribewanted experience) we decided to try and save ourselves a bit of money and just book into one place for our whole stay. We'd read a lot about Octopus Resort but hadn't really thought anything more about it as the plan was to do tribewanted. But the more we looked into it last week the more we knew we couldn't go anywhere else. Take a look at the website - www.octopusresort.com - it's just amazing, and the reviews on trip advisor speak for themselves. This is going to be a real highlight of the trip. Once we'd decided to go for it, booking wasn't as easy as we'd hoped. As Fiji is 11 hours ahead of UK time, everytime we emailed the booking agents it was the middle of the night there, then when they replied it was the middle of the night here and so on... I think (fingers crossed) we're all sorted now - emailed off the booking form yesterday and just waiting for confirmation from the resort. One night in the middle of our stay there aren't any dorm beds left so we were told that they are going to put us up in the 'Massage hut' instead, at the same rate as we're paying the other nights. I thought this was a type of accommodation as you can stay in huts, but no, it's just where they do massages during the day! It seems they use it as overflow accommodation when neccessary and put a couple of mattresses on the floor! Oh well, it will be an experience!
We've also come across a few people on the message boards we have been frequenting for the past few years (!) who are doing similar things to us and will be in the same places at the same time. We've 'met' someone who is doing the same 8 day tour round the Canyons and National Parks in USA, and someone who is on our flight from LA to Fiji (the one where we lose a whole day somewhere up in the air). One of them has already left and reading his blog is making us very jealous. He's just been to New York and Washington DC, our first stops too, so reading his blog is giving us lots of tips!
We've spent a lot of time with friends and family over the past few weeks including a mini break to Yorkshire, a glorious sunny day of drinking in York (see photo attached to blog), and 2 of George Bailey's birthday parties! Still got our leaving party to go and of course the family wedding and Take That! So lots to keep us busy in these last 3 weeks. Just got to keep focussing on 1st June - it can't come soon enough!

Lynne and David Hi to you Both. It is so great to hear that you are finally getting away. We are so jealous and look forward to hearing all about it on the blog. No doubt it will bring back lots of memories for us too, so bring it on! Good luck ....
