After packing up the bus for the last time, making sure that all of our bags were at the front as we were getting off first, we set of for Vegas!!
In the morning, we stopped at Seligman, Arizona, which was the town where Route 66 began. We called in at the diner that had been open since the 50s for an ice cream (served by some crazy guys!) and ate lunch standing in the shade at the side of the road.
We arrived in Vegas at about 4pm and left the group to check into our hotel - The Hilton Grand Vacations on the Las Vegas Strip (thanks mam and dad!!). We were VERY impressed with our room - full kitchen, massive bed, massive shower and a bath. I thought I was in heaven while I was sat soaking in the bath while watching the TV (the bath is kind of in the bedroom!), it was luxury after a week on that bus.
We went to meet the rest of the group who had been exploring Vegas for the last few hours, so that we could have dinner together for the last time. We went to the buffet at Harrah's casino and we were all amazed by the amount of food on offer - every different kind of food you could think of, and we had a few platefulls each!
We then went to the Bellagio with T, Sally and Rosa to watch the fountain show, and got there just in time to see 'Your Song' by Elton John (each show is set to a different song).
We then went to say our final goodbyes and waved off the bus which was on it's way to LA then San Francisco - a long night for those getting off in San Francisco! Then we headed into Circus Circus with T and Raz, who were both staying in Vegas. At the bar we met a barman from Birmingham and had a bucket of booze (literally!). He recommended a couple of other bars and we eventually headed home at 5am, when it was light outside. Welcome to Las Vegas!
