We got up this morning and packed our bags ready for Koh Phangan, we were getting picked up at 12.30ish for the ferry so we packed up got something to eat and checked out at 12 o'clock and then just sat in reception and used the internet etc until we got picked up, Adam emailed Marie and Mimi, the two French-Canadian girls from the trek ad they were supposed to be coming to Koh Phangan today too, he told them where we were staying and said for them to come and stay there too if they were coming. The ferry port was different to the one we arrived at and we could just get straight on the ferry when we got there, the ferry was pretty busy so we just stood outside at the back, which was ok until some foreign family came and pretty much pushed us out of the way cos the daughter was sea sick. I had to practically crawl under them on the floor to get Adams shoes that he'd taken off and the girl was leaning on Adams guitar case which I didn't think he was too happy about! We got to Koh Phangan and thought that we had to get a taxi to the hotel but it turned out that the hotel had sent someone to pick us up which was cool! We got to the hotel and the owner is English and so are some of the staff, when we were checking in they needed a passport for security and when I got the passports out there was only one there, mine! We figured that when Adam hired the scooter and they needed his passport that he left it there!! We emailed the hotel in Koh Samui to see if they had it. The hotel room is really nice, it has aircon which is freezing cold and there is a double bed and a single bed!! AND for the first time since Bangkok the bathroom has an actual shower cubical rather than just a shower head on the wall!! Adam went to reception to ask to borrow the phone to call the hotel in Koh Samui before we actually emailed them and whilst he was there he ran in to Marie and Mimi who were there looking for us, it was awesome to meet up with them and we arranged to go out for tea with them later. Our room was overlooking the pool and kind of the sea too, there wasn't much of a beach out front though. When Marie and Mimi left we went to the hotel restaurant and got a bite to eat, the food was good and reasonably priced which is a bonus! When we'd eaten and chilled out for a bit we got ready and Marie and Mimi came to our room about 6.30ish and we went to the pool bar for a cocktail as we were given two buy one get one free vouchers so we had one and gave one to Marie and Mimi. We met another English couple at the bar, Steven and Lorna who were from Reading, they were really nice, we invited them out for tea with us but they already had plans so we said we'd have drinks with them before the black moon party tomorrow. We left the hotel to find somewhere to eat and somehow got a bit lost and ended up in someones back garden who laughed and kindly let us go through their driveway to get to the main road. We walked up the street looking for somewhere to eat, Adam and Mimi were happy to eat Thai but Marie and I both fed up of rice and noodles wanted some western food so we had to find somewhere that sold both, we looked at a few places but none of them looked great so we ended up going to the place next to the garden we were in which was a kebab/turkish place. It was really good, Adam and I both had chicken kebabs and shared some chips, it was yummy! After this we went to the 7/11 and the supermarket for some beers, we decided to buy a crate of lagers and a bottle of vodka with some juices so that we could have a few tonight and then have enough for tomorrow before the black moon party. We got it all back to the room and emptied the fridge of all the stuff from the mini bar so that we could put all our own beers in, we played cards for a bit and had a couple of drinks and called it a night about 10.30 and arranged for Marie and Mimi to come to our hotel tomorrow to use the pool and chill, we just want a cheap few days in Koh Phangan so not gonna do anything apart from black moon party!
