To say that the bungalow we were in wasn't the comfiest room I've ever stayed in, we managed to get quite a good nights sleep, we didn't wake up until Simon came to tell us that breakfast was ready!! Today breakfast was toast and jam with a hard boiled egg, it was nice enough! We set off for the last part of the trek pretty swiftly this morning and once again it was quite a bit of downhill, a few of the group slipped and fell in the mud due to last nights downpour! After a while we reached what was starting to look like civilisation again and made it to the main road where we went to the start of the elephant trek, in twos we all got on huge elephants to start a trek through the nearby area, the elephant that Adam and I had had a baby elephant with it which was cute! We were on the elephants for about 45 minutes and we could by bananas and sugar canes to feed to them along the way, the first bag of bananas and sugar cane that we bought, we had only fed our elephant and the baby a couple of bananas when the baby elephant wrapped its trunk around the bag that I was holding and pulled them out of my hand and ate the entire bag including the plastic bag!! We bought a couple more bags at stops along the way, once we had been up and down the hillside we went in to the river, the baby elephant ducked itself under the water to cool itself down a couple of times and at one point another baby elephant climbed on top of our baby elephant and our baby got stuck under the water, it was rather amusing watching them fool around and the guides trying to get them to walk on with the group!! After we got back to the elephant depot we were taken in a truck for lunch. Lunch was Pad Thai but by this point I was beyond sick of Thai food, Adam enjoyed it but I couldn't face it so only had a mouthful or two and even that almost had my gipping! I wasn't the only one, I think most of the group ha had their fill of Thai food! I had read about a restaurant in Chiang Mai which was owned by an american and served western food so I suggested to the group that we all eat there tonight and everyone agreed! After lunch we were taken to a nearby place for bamboo rafting, by this point I just wanted to get back and have a shower (I don't think standing under a waterfall qualifies as been clean). D one of the Irish girls couldn't swim and didn't want to do the rafting so I didn't bother either and we went to the finish point with Simon and Harry and got a drink and took photos of the group as they were coming to the finish point. Once everyone was back we piled in to trucks and were taken back to BMP our hotel. We all arranged to meet in the bar area later to go out to the restaurant that I had suggested. It was so nice to have a proper shower and to feel clean again. We chilled out for a while and I read my book and Adam played guitar for a while and then we got ready and went down to the bar. We had a drink in the bar area and Adam and Soloman played guitar for a little while and then we headed out to find the restaurant. We hailed a big tuk tuk at the end of our street and somehow managed to negotiate a price of 100baht for him to take all 13 of us to the restaurant, as it turned out he didn't actually know where it was and stopped to ask a policeman who we don't think knew either. Adam showed the driver the address on the travel guide and he set off again but mustn't have known where he was going because we only managed to get there because we drove past he restaurant and Adam spotted it and shouted for the driver to stop! When we got in the restaurant, they managed to accommodate our large group and most of us ordered cocktails to start the night. The menu looked great and everyone was deciding what they wanted to eat, I had Chicken Quesadilla for starter and then a pizza for my main, the portions were huge!! The quesadilla was delicious and then when the pizza came it must have been a family size pizza if you ordered back home, it was soooo big, I only ate about 1/8 of it but I asked if I could take the rest home as we were going to play drinking games when we got back so we might all want some after a few drinks! We managed to get anothe big tuk tuk for a reasonable price to take us back to our hotel via a 7/11 so we could pick up some beers for our drinking games! Adam and I shared 1litre of vodka with David and Neville, the 2 scottish guys and just got some sprite and coke to mix with it. When we got back to the hotel, the hotel bar was still open so we had a beer there and then went up to Jordan and Gessika's room to continue the drinking game. We were playing a game called Sociables or Ring of Fire depending on where you came from! It was a really good game and you didn't have to particularly good at anything so no-one was continually losing! After a while the phone in the room rang so I answered and it was reception telling us we needed to be quiet or to take the party outside. By this time the hotel bar had closed so we figured that they couldn't moan about us drinking our own beers in the bar area when they were closed... We had to bribe the reception guy/security with 100baht so that he would switch us the lights on! We continued playing and the guy from the hotel came over a few times to tell us to keep the noise down as people were asleep, by this time Neville who had been quite quiet up to this point was saying behind the hotel guys back 'let's just fight him' it was really funny coming from Neville who had been so reserved until now! Slowly people started drifting off to bed and the games stopped and we were just listening to Adam play guitar and singing along. I think Adam and I called it a night with rest of the group at about half 4. It was a really good night!
