We got up quite late this morning, I think because we had slept with earplugs in, we didn't get woken up by everyone in the dorm getting up and we'd had a terrible nights sleep on the train yesterday we needed it! We headed out towards the Patronas Towers and the KL Tower. We were both hungry and I knew from reading up about it that there was loads of places to eat by the Patronas Towers. I was really looking forward to seeing them, I don't know why, perhaps cos of that film Entrapment... Either way Adam thought I was stupid for looking forward to seeing some building!! When we got there we took a few photos and went to see how much it was to go to the observation deck and the bridge. It was £16 each so Adam said he wasn't bothered about going up but all the tickets had sold out for today anyway and it's closed on Monday's so probably won't be able to go up! After we'd been to look for tickets we went in to the mall under the towers. We got meatball spaghetti for lunch and it was really cheap which we weren't expecting!! The mall was huge and we thought at first that all the shops would be out of out price range because it was all Gucci, Prada, Tiffany's, Choppard etc, but as looked round there was loads of normal shops too. The Converse shop had a special offer on and as I'd asked Adam for some red Converse for my birthday we had a look and they were so cheap, about £30 when they'd have been about £60 at home, so we got some which I was made up about! We looked round the mall for ages and then decided to go to the KL Tower. The KL Tower has a revolving restaurant at the top which I really wanted to go to but Adam refused as it was about £40 each... Instead we decided to just go up to the observation deck but at nighttime instead so we headed back to the hostel for showers and to get changed. As it was still two for one at the hostel bar we decided to just eat there again, we had soup and this sizzling beef thing, it was pretty average I thought but Adam liked it... We headed back out and decided to get a taxi to the KL Tower to see if we could make it whilst it was still dusk and get some good photos. When we got there, got the tickets and went up in the lift it had past dusk and gone dark so didn't get as good photos as intended. Also, I thought that the observation deck would be outside but it wasn't it was indoors so a lot of the photos reflected in the glass... We headed back down and decided to go for some drinks, we'd seen a few bars whilst walking today and asked the hostel reception where was best to go, he said not where we'd seen as it was mainly hookers that went there! He recommended an area for us to go so we asked a taxi driver to take us. We were taken to a street with loads of bars on and went to a nice looking bar at the top of the street called Havana's. Adam loved been able to sit at the bar and order his own drink after the last few weeks of table service! The drinks were so expensive though in comparison to what we've been used to, for a bottle of lager and a pint of lager it was £10! Needless to say we only had the one in there. We headed down the street to a couple more bars. In the next bar an American man asked Adam if he was old enough to be in the bar as he only looked 15!!! We went to an Irish bar next and we've found that nowhere we've been so far knows anything about being Irish other than to serve Guinness... It was fun all the same, they played some pretty good music and we laughed at the staff singing along to Bon Jovi badly! We got talking to an Australian guy who had lived in KL for over 20 years now, he had come here for a holiday, met a lady and got married, he was with his two brother in laws, they were really nice and gave us some good tips of where to go and stuff and where we could book a bus to Singapore! We had a couple of drinks in the Irish bar and then called it a night. On the way home we called in to what looked like an American diner but after looking at the menu I didn't want to eat there so I feigned feeling sick and we left and just went to bed.
