The train was so terrible, it kept banging and being noisy all night, I thought we kept crashing in to the carriage in front or something it was so bad. It turned out that somewhere down the track they had removed most of the carriages and that's what all the banging and crashing noises were. We were woken up about 8.30 to go through passport control for Malaysia. We were so tired we just wanted to go back to bed but when we got back on the train they had packed away all out beds. I was so annoyed. The steward guys on the train had taken the seats at mine and Adams bed so we had to move to the next one along and the woman from there had to move some seats back... The steward guys were eating constantly for about 2 hours, people in South East Aisa don't appear to have any table manners and eat loudly with their mouths open, which I find disgusting. I hate noisy eaters even at home so when I'm tired and hungry last thing I want to hear is some fat, sweaty Aisan stuffing their face and slurping their drinks!! I ended up curling up in my seat and somehow managed to fall asleep, poor Adam who can only sleep laying down just played on his iPod and listened to music. We got to Butterworth about 1.45pm, changed our Thai Baht in to Malaysian Ringgits and then went to see what time the train to Kuala Lumpur was, luckily or so we thought there was a train in 15 minutes and the tickets were only about £5 each but it was a 6 hour train journey! We got on the train and picked seats at the very back that had loads of leg room and we watched all 3 Bourne Movies which by the time they had finished only left us with about an until we reached Kuala Lumpur. The train was gross, loads and loads of bugs and baby cockroaches, it got so bad that Adam, who wouldn't even kill a spider, squashed one of the baby cockroaches which seemed to warn the others to stay away for the majority of the rest of the journey!! When we were nearing the station we passed through a few stations and wasn't sure if they were our station, Adam asked a girl on the train who told us how many more stops and also told us the bus was loads faster and cheaper than the train!! Typical! Although when we bought the tickets the train was in the station and setting off in 15 minutes so we didn't have time to compare bus prices or we'd have missed the train. We got to KL Central train station about 9.30, an hour later than scheduled and just headed straight to the hostel. We checked in and put our bags in the dorm (which is really cool, it doesn't have actual bunk beds but pods built in to the wall) each pod has 2 plug sockets, a mirror and a cupboard in it and a curtain which makes it like a private room. Underneath each lower pod is 2 cupboards for your bags. We sorted our stuff out and then went to the hostel bar/cafe for some food as its buy one get one free on Saturday and Sundays for food and drinks! After food we went for a bit of a walk and to the 7-11 for some water before going to bed.
