We decided to check out this Leisure Village today that we'd seen advertised on the ferry. We booked the hotel taxi to take us. The lady at the resort said that it isn't there but we assumed that as she didn't speak very good English she didn't know what she was talking about. When we got in the taxi the driver was telling us that if we go to the main town it's better as loads more shops and spas and cheaper as not as touristy so we said we'd go there instead. It took about an hour to get there and the driver said he would wait for us but we said we didn't know how long we'd be so he didn't have to, he gave us his card and said he'd be about 10 minutes to pick us up if we rang him. Anyway the town was ridiculously busy and we were the only tourists that we saw, all the cafes and restaurants looked gross and the shops were just full of fakes! After about 40 minutes we wanted to get the driver to come and get us and to the touristy Leisure Village we'd seen. We had no means to ring the driver so we just went in to a mobile phone shop and asked if we could pay to use a phone. The guy made us buy a sim card and then lent us a phone to use it in, it only cost about 40p but then he got to keep whatever remaining credit was on the sim... Anyway the taxi driver picked us up and we set off to the Leisure Village, on the advert we saw there was a huge mall, loads of restaurants and bars, it looked really cool. Well, after an hour and a half the taxi driver said we were there, we got out and we weren't where we thought we were gonna be, there were about 20 shops/restaurants/spas but no mall, no bars we were so disappointed but as we were starving we just went to a restaurant and got some food. It wasn't great! We had been given some leaflets for a couple of Spa's and one was about 2 shops away from the restaurant we were in so decided to go have some treatments done. I opted for an hour full body massage and a facial and Adam had an hour massage and an hour herbal compress (essentially a 2 hour massage...) it was so good and not too badly priced. When we finished we asked a guy at the spa where the mall was and he said its not built yet, it should be open in the new year!!!! We should have bloody listened to the woman at our hotel. Adam still thinks that it is actually open and it's just a conspiracy to get people not to go!! We headed back to hotel and chilled on the porch for a bit and eventually went for some food in the restaurant, good old chicken, rice and chips again!! We didn't bother with any cokes tonight and just watched Men In Black on the iPad instead. Adam came and slept in my bed tonight as said he hadn't been able to sleep in bed on his own and he might sleep better in bed with me, it made it even warmer trying to get to sleep!!
