Diwali ki Shutbhkamnayein! - Happy Diwali!

This morning during breakfast, I ment a couple from Brimingham (Michelle and Martain) how said that they would take me out and about in Delhi to familarise myself with everything. We took the Metro to the race course, where we wnet to see Ghandi Smirty. Unfortunately it was closed beacuse of Diwali. Michelle and Martain also told me the the metro was the quietest they have seen it! We could actually sit down.

As Ghandi's house was closed, we took a tuk tuk to Connaught Place, a central shopping and eatting area in Delhi. From there we went to the Main Bazah! A crazy street of market stalls, hotels, restaurants and bars!

I spent the rest of the day in the Bazah where I did a bit of shopping (it is soooo cheap!), grabs some food and met loads of great people. A group made up of English, USA and Canadian, and a couple from Liverpool!

We ended up celebrating Diwali in a back street with locals. The just set fireworks and fire crackers off in the street! It is mad, crazy, bonkers!! But really AMAZING!! Everyone saying Happy Diwali! (Bit like everyone in the UK shouting Happy New Year!) I just wish I could find the words to explain what it is like!!! You need to be there to see it!!! What an amazing night!!!!
