I am now on the ATC truck and they are a really good group. Our first stop was back to the Masai Mara, where we spent two nights. We did another full day game drive, but because we were in the big truck, not a safari vehicle we didnt see as much or get as close as the other day. We did see some lions on a kill though and we went back to the Mara river where the hippo's were out of the water and sunbathing on the bank, this was really cool, we counted about 50, they are massive! The Masai warriors back at camp set up a campfire for us, so a few of us sat up with the warriors and learnt a bit more about their culture. We ended up staying up until 1am, which probably wasnt the best idea as we had to be up a 5.30 the next day!
We had a long drive to Kericho, where we spent the night at a tea plantation before crossing the border into Uganda the next day. Before crossing into Uganda we passed Kisumu, a town which was badly affected by the election violence. There were lots of shops and petrol stations burnt down!
After 12hrs on the road we arrived into Kampala. I am really impressed by Uganda so far, it seems so much more affluent than Kenya, which I was quite surprised at, and it has a lot better infrastructure-decent roads at last!
Off to the Gorilla base camp tomorrow!
