Wow Chiang Mai. Much better than Bangkok! Shame we only have 3days here but the schedule it tight. Today we did a Thai cooking class. I now know how to cook 5 different Thai dishes, so expect some dinner parties when i get home ;) Am glad we have come to Chiang Mai as before now my perceptions of Thailand have not been good. As soon as we arrived in Bangkok the taxi drivers immediately tried to ripp us off and we got refused a ride by 5 drivers because we insisted we go by the meter. Also heard many stories about how they never take you to the direct destination but we havent relied on taxis that much to get caught out that way...yet! Although a woman in Bangkok tried to charge me 20Baht for a piece of toilet roll! Guess they know how much westerners rely on it, well... the hosepipe is just not happening for me!

Hopefully doing a trek tomorrow and seeing some elephants :)
