Going off Plan....!
Yes, Im in Malaysia! Took a detour out of Thailand to visit Kuala Lumpur as people along the way have said how brilliant it is. Only here for 3days before going back to Thailand and onto Chiang Mai. So far so good. Kuala Lumpur is a greta city. I knew people were going to be friendly from the moment the immigration officer started chatting informally to me (usually, they look you up and down and try to find some way of giving you the 3rd degree) and the taxi driver we had was great, he went to great lengths to make sure we found our hostel before he left us, despite us having pre-paid our fare, so he wasnt getting anything out of it finacially. This is a refreshing change from Bangkok, but thats another story!
So far we've wandered around KL city to the Petronas towers and sampled some of the local cuisines, all of which have been not too harsh on the progressively tight budget. Also visited the local Mosque and are going out this evening to the KL tower to get a view of the city at night. Our hostel is brilliant. Its a small place in the middle of what looks like the east asian equivalent of the hackney ghetto, but inside is just like someones home! Its the cheapest place we've stayed but the friendliest and the first time I've had free unlimited internet access :) Oh, and theres 2 cats which I have been loving having around... missing chippy!

Im beginning to wish we had longer in Malaysia. From what I've seen so far its a great place and I'd love the opportunity to see more of the country.... something for the future maybe ;)
(and then I can make use of Claire's Malay phrase book which is still on my shelf at home!)
