(Updated version - I was on a timer for V1 so made some errors!!)
So, this is my first blog after almost 3 weeks of travels. My mum has nagged me to get something written as people are apparently wanting to see what I am up to. So sorry!
Firstly, China was absolutly amazing! Would love to go back some time!
The flight was not so fun as I dont sleep on planes so I tried to keep myself distracted for 10 hours!
We landed in Beijing and had some time there of exploring on our own before we met the group for our tour. We were suprised at how well we did!
Saturday - We took a trip on the metro to the Summer Palace which was lovely and a nice start to China. And it was the start of getting used to new things! We bought something that we thought was meat on a stick and we soon realised that it was straberries covered in some sort of sticky stuff. Very different to what we thought!
We met the tour group in the eveningand met our tour guide for the week. She was a little Chinese girl called Deona. She was so lovely. We wanted to take her all around the world with us. She knew everything!!
There were 14 of us in a group in total. Everyone was English apart from two Canadian girls which was cool.
Sunday - Today we went to the Great Wall. We climbed to the top! I didnt realise quite how massive it was!! When we were done we had the choice to walk down or tabogun down. We chose to tabogun. Lots of fun!
In the evening some of us decided to take a wonder to the Tample of Heaven. A bit of an adventure as we didnt really know where it was so we guessed and finally got there after what felt like forever looking!
Monday - Today we took a trip to Teanamon Square and the Forbidden City. Unfortunatly we couldnt get in to Teanamon Square as it was closed for some political reasons so we just went in to The Forbidden City. We had a look around there for a while. That was a very cold day!
That evening we got an overnight train to our next destination. That was pretty cool, although I only got about an hours sleep in total.
Tuesday - Today we went for lunch at a local Chinese couples house. Yum!! After that we went to see the Terracotor Warriors. I didnt realise how many of them there was and Verity didnt realise how big they were. We had a good lesson that day! In the evening we went to the night market which was very exciting. Good to see all the things that were going on and try some of the food!
Wednesday - Today we went to visit a very pretty lake and went to a Chinese restaurant just by the lake. We ate lots!
Thursday - We went on a canal Tour today in a little village. People still lived there so we had a wonder through the peoples village to see how they lived. It was such a little town and amazing to see that people still lived there. We also went on a little boat trip which was fun. In the evening we went to an Chinese acrobats show which was fantastic.
Friday - Today we took a trip up an 88 story building! Was pretty cool to see the city from that high up! Although it did make me feel a little funny to look all the way down from that hight! A few of the group then took a trip to the market to see if we could get any nice things. Verity bought a Panda hat she had really wanted!! We then had even more chinese food for dinner and went for some chinese Karaoke. We eventually all ended up in some chinese club!
All in all China was amazing. We also ate soooo much chinese food. Our tour guide took us to some lovely chinese restaurants and told us everything she knew about China. I have probably doubled in weight from China alone!!
Flying out of China and next stop Thialand to see what is happening there. Have heard lots of good things!
Hope this is good enough for now. Will update you all when I have some more time
Missing seeing some of your faces :)
Love xxx
