Hi Everyone!

Ok so I've been in South Africa for week now and absolutely love it here!

I arrived in Jo'burg at about 7 in the morning and after a pretty terrible flight I was absolutely knackered! (That said - its been that long since I've been on a long haul flight that last time I did one you couldn't pick what films you want to watch and stuff - was well impressed with that! Lol...I know little things....)

I was collected from the airport and went to stay for a night in Pretoria at the backpacker's lodge there. I met up with a couple of other girls starting my project on the same day which was good, as it meant we could all get the bus to the project together the next day.

I'm working and staying at Boskoppie Lion Farm. Basically my days involve feeding and playing with a couple of 6 week old tiger cubs called Indi (short for Indiana Jones - he's the adventurous one) and Tiny (the runt of the litter). We also found out today that we've got some new lion cubs so they will be coming into our care soon. Exciting! The cubs are so funny, though they are getting bigger by the day and don't quite realise their own strength sometimes - I'm a bit scratched and bruised! :S

Other than that we take visitors to the park on tours. It did mean that our first night here involved sitting with the information about all the animals and learning everything we need to tell the visitors. But let me tell you - ask me anything about a lion or a tiger and I've got the answers now!

Right, my 30 minutes in the internet cafe is just about to run out so I'll finish here for now. I'll try and update in a couple of weeks or so!
